In short

A small clinic website in India costs about ₹10,000 to ₹40,000 with a freelancer, or ₹50,000 to ₹1.5 lakh and more with an agency. Yearly costs come on top: a domain (about ₹500 to ₹1,500), hosting (about ₹2,000 to ₹8,000) and edits. Compare quotes on what you'd pay over three years, not on the setup fee alone.

Healthcare agencies often quote more. One Indian agency puts a clinic website with booking at ₹90,000 to ₹2,50,000.

What you pay every year, whoever builds it

  • Domain name: about ₹500 to ₹1,500 a year for a .in or .com. Buy it in your own name.
  • Hosting: about ₹2,000 to ₹5,000 a year for shared hosting, or ₹3,000 to ₹8,000 for managed WordPress.
  • Security certificate (the padlock): included free by most hosts and builders.
  • Edits and upkeep: timings change, doctors join, fees rise. Freelancers charge about ₹1,500 to ₹10,000 a year to look after a small site. Agency retainers run ₹1,000 to ₹5,000 a month.
  • Optional extras: Google Business Profile management, WhatsApp automation (Meta charges per message) and booking systems.

Three-year cost: a worked example

The ranges are wide, so here is one small clinic site, worked through both ways.

Over three yearsFreelancerStudio Footfall Starter
Setup₹25,000₹9,999, or ₹4,999 for our first 10 clinics
Domain₹2,400₹2,400, paid by you to your registrar
Hosting₹9,000Included
Edits and upkeep₹15,000Included, 2 edits a month
Monthly planNone₹53,964, or ₹44,970 paid yearly
Total₹51,400₹52,369 to ₹66,363

Assumes a domain at ₹800 a year, hosting at ₹3,000 a year and upkeep at ₹5,000 a year for the freelancer site.

The totals land close together. The difference is what you get for the money. On a monthly plan, edits, backups and fixes are part of the price, and someone answers when something breaks. With a one-off build, every change after launch is a new bill, if you can still reach the person who built it.

What pushes the price up

  • More pages, such as a page for each treatment or each doctor
  • Several doctors or branches
  • Online booking with a database, payments or reminders
  • Hindi and English versions
  • Writing the content and taking the photos for you
  • A custom design instead of a template

Hidden costs to ask about before you pay

  • Who owns the domain? It should be registered in your name, in your own account.
  • Is there an exit fee or a minimum contract?
  • What does renewal cost? Ask about the second year, not just the first.
  • Are edits included, or billed one by one?
  • Is GST added on top of the quote?
  • Is any fee linked to leads or patients? The NMC's 2026 guidelines bar commissions and referral fees linked to getting patients.
  • Will the content follow the NMC or Dental Commission rules? Fixing a non-compliant site later costs more. Our guide to the 2026 rules has a checklist.
